Growing notes

Sow fresh seeds in a warm, humid environment using a well-draining substrate. A mix with coco fiber or peat, perlite, and fine bark or sand should work well.

Keep the substrate lightly moist but never waterlogged. Warmth and stable humidity are important for germination.

Recommended germination temperature: 24–30°C / 75–86°F.

As with many tropical Passiflora species, germination can be irregular and may take several weeks or longer. Freshness, warmth, and patience are key.

Once seedlings are established, grow them in bright filtered light or gentle morning sun. Provide support for climbing growth and avoid cold temperatures, especially when plants are young.

Collector’s note

This is not a common commercial passionfruit. It is a rare Amazonian collector form with ornamental flowers and reportedly excellent sweet fruit. Best suited for Passiflora enthusiasts, rare fruit collectors, and growers interested in unusual edible vines from the Amazon.
