Description
Pack: 10 seeds
Passiflora pedata ‘Carajás’ is a rare and beautiful Amazonian passionflower offered from a very limited July pre-sale seed lot.
This form is especially attractive for collectors because of its spectacular flowers: pale lavender to white petals, a deep purple center, and long curled filaments that give the flower a very exotic ornamental look. It is one of those Passiflora species that immediately stands out, even among rare passionflowers.
According to the collector, the fruit is acidic and mainly used for juice, making it more suitable as a refreshing passionfruit for drinks rather than a sweet dessert fruit. The material is reported from areas around Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil, and is being offered here as the “Carajás” form.
This is not a common commercial passionfruit. It is a rare collector species with strong ornamental value and edible fruit potential, especially for growers interested in unusual Amazonian Passiflora.

Growing notes
Sow fresh seeds in a warm, humid environment using a well-draining substrate. A mix with coco fiber or peat, perlite, and fine bark or sand should work well.
Keep the substrate lightly moist but never waterlogged. Warmth and stable humidity are important for germination.
Recommended germination temperature: 24–30°C / 75–86°F.
As with many tropical Passiflora species, germination can be irregular and may take several weeks or longer. Freshness, warmth, and patience are key.
Once seedlings are established, grow them in bright filtered light or gentle morning sun. Provide support for climbing growth and protect young plants from cold temperatures.
Collector’s note
This is a rare Amazonian Passiflora with outstanding ornamental value and acidic fruits best suited for juices. A strong choice for Passiflora collectors, rare fruit growers, and anyone interested in unusual edible vines from Brazil.
