Description
Pack: 10 seeds
Passiflora longifilamentosa is a rare and fascinating tropical passionflower from northern South America, with a native range including Brazil — Pará and French Guiana.
This species was formally published in 2013 and belongs to the family Passifloraceae. It is associated with wet tropical environments, making it especially interesting for collectors of Amazonian and northern Brazilian Passiflora species.
As its name suggests, longifilamentosa is notable for its long floral filaments — a trait that gives the flowers a highly ornamental and exotic appearance. This is not a common commercial passionfruit, but rather a rare botanical collector species for growers interested in unusual Passiflora from the Brazilian Amazon region.
Because of its rarity and limited availability, this species is best suited for experienced Passiflora growers, rare fruit collectors, botanical collections, and warm-climate growers who enjoy unusual edible and ornamental vines.

Growing notes
Sow fresh seeds in a warm, humid environment using a well-draining substrate. A mix with coco fiber or peat, perlite, and fine bark or sand should work well.
Keep the substrate lightly moist but never waterlogged. Warmth and stable humidity are important for germination.
Recommended germination temperature: 24–30°C / 75–86°F.
As with many rare tropical Passiflora species, germination can be irregular and may take several weeks or longer. Freshness, warmth, humidity, and patience are essential.
Once seedlings are established, grow them in bright filtered light or gentle morning sun. Provide support for climbing growth and protect young plants from cold temperatures.
Collector’s note
This is a rare Brazilian Passiflora from the wet tropical biome of Pará and nearby regions. It should be treated primarily as a collector species with high ornamental interest and limited availability.
