Description
Family: Myrtaceae
Collector name: Cambucá Imperial
Status: May/June Pre-Sale
Origin: Brazil
Availability: extremely limited
This is one of the rarest cambucá-type Plinia we have been able to source from Brazil. Big fruit: up to 10 cm diameter, and very good taste!
Offered under the collector name “Cambucá Imperial”, this appears to be a very unusual and premium Plinia related to cambucá, with strong collector appeal and extremely limited seed availability.
At this stage, we are offering it honestly as Plinia sp. “Cambucá Imperial”, since the exact botanical identity is not fully confirmed. What makes it especially interesting is its rarity, its collector status, and the fact that very few seeds are being released.
This is not a standard commercial fruit species. It is a high-end collector item, intended for growers focused on rare Brazilian Myrtaceae, unusual Plinia, and hard-to-find cambucá relatives.
Only a tiny part of the batch is being offered now.
Important: availability is extremely limited.
Pre-sale note
This is a May/June Pre-Sale item.
For best shipping coordination, we recommend purchasing this item together with:
- other May/June Pre-Sale items, or
- dry seeds currently on stock now
Combining items from the same pre-sale batch usually helps simplify logistics and preserve seed quality.
Germination / cultivation note
As with many rare Plinia, seeds should be planted as fresh as possible in a moist but well-drained substrate, with warmth, humidity, and bright shade. Avoid letting the seeds dry out completely, but also avoid waterlogging.
Suggested starting conditions:
- 24–30°C / 75–86°F
- bright shade or filtered light
- airy, moisture-retentive substrate
- stable humidity
Germination may be slow or irregular, as expected from rare collector Plinia.
