Bacupari sp. “Verdadeiro de Alagoas”

This remarkable Brazilian fruit comes from Alagoas and is locally regarded by our collector as a
“true Bacupari”. Its exact scientific species has not yet been confirmed, so we are intentionally
offering it under the transparent provisional identification Bacupari sp.

The fruit is visually unusual: golden-yellow at maturity, with distinctive dark natural markings visible on some
fruits. The opened fruit shows pale flesh surrounding a large seed.

Flavor

The collector’s description immediately caught our attention: the flavor “reminds me of cotton candy.”
This is especially interesting because visually similar Bacupari-type fruits can sometimes be strongly acidic.
According to the collector, this accession is notably pleasant and sweet.
