Eugenia sp. “Lindiseia” — giant sweet fruit with exceptionally thick pulp

This spectacular Brazilian Eugenia material was found in the Itacaré and Ilhéus regions of Bahia.

The fruit was directly observed and described as sweet, reaching approximately 6 cm or more. Its pulp is particularly notable: thick, dense and fleshy, almost mass-like, rather than highly watery or thin.

The exact botanical species is not yet confirmed. It is therefore being offered conservatively under the collector or field name Eugenia sp. “Lindiseia”.

Germination and care

Fresh tropical Myrtaceae seeds should be planted promptly after arrival and should not be intentionally dried.

  • Provide warmth, high humidity and bright indirect light or partial shade.
  • Protect young seedlings from intense afternoon sun and drying winds.
  • Germination speed can vary considerably among rare wild-collected materials.
