Description
Garcinia sp. “Camborgiana” Amarela — rare delicious golden form
This exceptional collector accession is maintained under the source name Garcinia sp. “Camborgiana” Amarela. It was selected and offered to us by Clayton as a good-quality, flavorful fruit, not merely as a botanical curiosity.
The fruit is visually remarkable: ripe fruits are golden-yellow to yellow-orange and divided into numerous large elongated lobes, giving them an almost sculptural appearance. The opened fruit shows pale yellow to cream-colored juicy flesh surrounding a very large seed.
Why this accession stands out
- Eating quality: selected by the collector as a tasty / desirable edible Garcinia.
- Fruit color: golden-yellow to yellow-orange at maturity.
- Fruit architecture: spectacular strongly multi-lobed form.
- Interior: pale fleshy edible portion around a very large seed.
- Collector value: extremely scarce accession with only a tiny quantity available.
Identification note
“Camborgiana” is retained as the collector/source working name. The exact botanical species has not yet been independently confirmed, so we conservatively list it as Garcinia sp. This name should not be read as a formal identification with Garcinia cambogia / Garcinia gummi-gutta.
September 2026 batch — already in hand
This is no longer a collector-side availability gamble: the September seed batch has already reached Junín, Argentina, and this accession is physically secured together with the rest of the September collection. We are releasing only 8 seeds for customer orders from this limited lot.
Germination and early care
Fresh Garcinia seeds are moisture-sensitive and should be sown promptly rather than intentionally dried.
- Sow in a loose, organic and well-draining substrate.
- Keep the medium evenly moist, never permanently waterlogged.
- Maintain warm conditions, approximately 24–30°C / 75–86°F.
- Use bright filtered light and protect young seedlings from intense afternoon sun.
- If a seed has already started to germinate, handle the emerging root very carefully.
