Description
Cabeludinha “Superior” — a new large-fruited selection
This is a newly selected large-fruited Cabeludinha from Brazilian collector material. The source specifically selected unusually large fruits for seed and describes them as very tasty, with a good pulp-to-seed impression compared with ordinary Cabeludinha.

Important identity note: a previous informal comparison connected this material with “Cabeludinha da Cruz”. However, the source has clarified that this lot should not be presented as the named Da Cruz selection. Some fruits naturally show a cross-like mark at the apex, but that visual trait alone does not establish the Da Cruz identity.

Standard Myrciaria glazioviana is a Brazilian Atlantic Forest fruit known for yellow, lightly fuzzy fruits with juicy, pleasant pulp. Specialist Brazilian references also document larger-fruited selections within this species complex. “Superior” is our working collector name for this particular new line; it is not a formally registered cultivar.
- Working identification: Myrciaria glazioviana group / Cabeludinha selection
- Selection trait: unusually large fruits chosen by the source
- Flavor: source reports very tasty fruit
- Pulp: source reports a good amount of pulp
- Not Da Cruz: explicitly kept separate from the named Da Cruz selection

Fresh-seed handling
Fresh Myrciaria seed should be sown promptly. Use a loose, organic, well-draining substrate; keep it evenly moist, warm and humid without waterlogging, and provide bright filtered light during early establishment. Do not intentionally dry fresh tropical Myrtaceae seed before sowing.
