Description
Annona paludosa is a rare wild Annona from tropical South America, belonging to the Annonaceae family. This lot comes from Maranhão, Brazil, where the fruits are reported as greenish to slightly yellow when mature, with a pleasant sweet flavor.
This species is sometimes known as Kasim or Guimamin and is rarely seen in the international seed trade. Fruits are small to medium-sized for an Annona, usually rounded to ovoid, with soft aromatic pulp. Some references describe ripe fruits as yellow, while this Brazilian Maranhão form appears more greenish-yellow at maturity.
A very interesting species for collectors of rare Annonas, tropical fruit growers, and people interested in lesser-known edible fruits from Brazil.

Important note:
This is wild-collected material from Brazil. As with many rare wild Annonas, some natural variation in fruit size, color and flavor may occur.
Germination tips:
Sow fresh in a warm, well-drained but slightly moist mix. Keep at around 25–30°C / 77–86°F. Avoid letting the seeds dry out completely, but also avoid waterlogged conditions. A short warm-water soak before sowing may help, especially if the seeds have dried slightly during shipping.
