Passiflora kermesina “PINK Flower” is a distinctive Brazilian passionflower selected for its elegant pink to rose-pink blooms.
While the red-flowering form produces a bold crimson display, this pink form has a softer and more refined ornamental appearance, making the two forms especially interesting when grown together.
The elongated petals and unusual floral structure create a very different effect from the common blue, purple, or white passionflowers usually seen in cultivation.
This seed lot was supplied as the PINK-flowering form of Passiflora kermesina and forms part of our limited Top 10 Premium Brazilian Passiflora August release.

This species is being offered primarily for its ornamental flowers and collector value.
I do not have reliable fruit-tasting information from the exact mother plant of this seed lot. Therefore, I am not advertising it as a selected sweet-fruited or commercial edible passionfruit.
Growing notes
Sow in a clean, airy, and well-draining substrate.
A suitable starting mixture may contain:
- Coco fiber or fine peat
- Perlite
- Fine orchid bark or coarse sand
Keep the substrate lightly and consistently moist, but never saturated.
Suggested germination temperature: 24–30°C / 75–86°F
Wild and collector Passiflora seeds can germinate irregularly. Some may germinate within several weeks, while others can require considerably longer.
Gentle scarification or soaking may assist germination, but treatments should be performed carefully to avoid damaging the embryo.
After germination:
- Provide bright filtered light
- Protect seedlings from cold
- Avoid waterlogged soil
- Protect young plants from intense midday sun
- Supply climbing support as the vine develops
- Gradually acclimate seedlings to stronger light
In cooler climates, grow in a greenhouse, warm conservatory, protected container, or another frost-free environment.
Collector’s note
The special appeal of this lot is the flower color.
The PINK form offers a softer and more elegant appearance than the vivid red form, while retaining the highly distinctive floral structure of Passiflora kermesina.
For collectors, growing both color forms together could produce an especially striking display and may also be interesting for future breeding work.
