Myrciaria pilosa “Roxa” is an uncommon dark-fruited collector accession of Brazilian Myrtaceae. Its most immediate attraction is the fruit: rounded, glossy berries that mature through deep purple to purple-black and almost black, often showing subtle reddish or wine-colored tones under strong light.

The source material also shows a distinctive plant habit, with fine, slender branching and narrow-elliptic foliage. The plant appears relatively compact and bushy in the available material, although we are still gathering more precise information about its mature size and growth habit.

Deep purple to almost black fruit

The mature fruits have an exceptionally dark coloration, ranging from rich burgundy-purple to nearly black. Their smooth, glossy skin gives them a strong ornamental quality and makes the fruit stand out beautifully against the fresh green foliage.
