Description
Myrciaria sp. “Big Nara” is an ultra-rare Brazilian Myrciaria-type Myrtaceae offered under its collector / field name.
This material is especially interesting because it is reported as an outstanding flavor selection, considered one of the best-tasting Myrciaria from this rare group. The name “Big Nara” suggests a larger or selected form related to the rare Nara-type Myrciaria material, but the exact botanical identity is not yet confirmed.
For now, we are keeping the identification conservative as:
Myrciaria sp. “Big Nara”
This is collector material for growers interested in rare Brazilian Myrtaceae, jaboticaba relatives, Myrciaria, Plinia-type fruits, and high-flavor selections from Brazil.
Compared with regular “Nara”-type material, this one is being offered as a very limited premium selection, with special interest because of its reported superior flavor.
Main features:
- Ultra-rare Brazilian Myrciaria
- Collector / field name: “Big Nara”
- Premium flavor selection
- Reported as one of the best-tasting Myrciaria from this group
- Rare jaboticaba relative / Myrtaceae fruit
- Excellent collector material
- Extremely limited seed availability
- ID pending — not sold under a confirmed botanical species name
- July pre-sale item
Growing notes:
Sow fresh. Myrciaria seeds should not be allowed to dry out completely. Use a well-drained but moisture-retentive substrate, such as peat/coir with perlite, vermiculite, fine bark, or similar.
Keep warm, humid, and in bright shade until germination. Avoid waterlogging, especially during early root development.
Young seedlings should be protected from strong direct sun, cold temperatures, drying winds, and stagnant wet soil. Like many jaboticaba relatives, this plant should appreciate moisture, warmth, organic matter, and good drainage.
Suggested conditions:
- Warm germination temperatures
- Bright shade / filtered light while young
- Moist but well-drained substrate
- No waterlogging
- Protection from frost
- Good candidate for greenhouse or container culture
- Gradual acclimation to stronger light as seedlings grow
Taxonomic note:
Sold as Myrciaria sp. “Big Nara”. Exact species identification is pending. This is a collector / field name used for rare Brazilian Myrciaria material. It should not be treated as a formally identified botanical species yet.
Pre-sale note:
