Manilkara aff. maxima “Orange” — an exceptional latex-free Sapotaceae fruit
This remarkable Brazilian Manilkara material comes from the Ilhéus and Porto Seguro regions of Bahia.
The seed-source fruit was directly tasted and described as one of the finest fruits encountered by the source. Its pulp is very sweet and exceptionally juicy, with a flavor reminiscent of Brazilian guava paste or “goiabada.” The texture also gives a pleasant granulated sensation, almost as though fine sugar crystals were present naturally in the pulp.

Germination and care
Fresh Sapotaceae seeds should be planted promptly after arrival.
- Use a loose, organic, moisture-retentive but well-draining medium.

- Provide warm conditions and bright indirect light or partial shade during early growth.
