Description

Eugenia aff. copacabanensis “Amarela” — unusual yellow-orange fruit from coastal São Paulo

This collector accession was reported from the Ubatuba region, São Paulo, Brazil and is being maintained as Eugenia aff. copacabanensis. The source fruit ranges from golden yellow to orange, with a smooth skin and a fleshy interior surrounding a large, hard seed.

The source describes the flavor in a particularly distinctive way: jerivá palm fruit with peach-like notes. The pulp is reported to adhere closely to the seed. These observations apply to the source plant and are not guarantees of identical seedling fruit quality.
