(b) in the case of a fixed-term lease which does not provide for the lessee to release the rental unit at the end of the limited period, a rental agreement concluded in accordance with Article 44(3) [as a rental agreement]; Tenants may terminate a temporary tenancy agreement prematurely by laying off one month in writing if they: 48 (1) A lessor may terminate the lease of a person employed as a janitor, administrator or manager of the residential property to which the rental unit belongs, considering termination of the lease, if (3) A lessor who is an individual may terminate a tenancy agreement related to a unit of rental, if the landlord or a close family member of the landlord intends to occupy the rental unit in good faith. Although oral leases are covered by the Residential Tenancy Act (RTA), it`s always best to have a written agreement with your landlord. Signing a Hardcopy contract is one of the best ways to protect yourself as a tenant, as it proves the terms you agreed to at the beginning of your lease. Your landlord can use the Residential Tenancy Branch`s (RTB) default lease or they can use their own custom lease. If they opt for their own agreement, they must have all the standard information required by law, just like the RTB agreement.
